That's All Folks!

Pierre just got back from an absolutely wonderful vacation in the Outer Banks with Miss Smith's family.  He enjoyed a lot of time in the sun, met some new friends, and relaxed a lot!

This will be Pierre's last blog for the summer.  He is going back to St. Amelia's tomorrow morning to gear up for the new school year.  He cannot wait to see everyone.  If you are around school next week, drop in and say hello to Pierre and Miss Smith!

We're Back!

Holy smokes, it's been a while.  Miss Smith and Pierre apologize for the week off--they have been so busy!

Here are a few highlights from the past two weeks (a lot of Miss Smith's and Pierre's time has been taken up by work!):

--Miss Smith and Pierre travelled down to Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania to visit a family that Miss Smith knew from college at Geneseo.  Pierre met Braden and Barrett, whom he loved.  He stayed with the boys while Miss Smith went to a New Kids On The Block and Backstreet Boy concert, but Pierre heard all about it!

-Pierre attended Miss Smith's Alumni Band Concert last Tuesday.  He loved the music (and the ice cream after!)

-Pierre's cousin Sophie came to visit from Paris, France!  He loved showing her all around his hometown and asked her if she could stay a little longer so she could visit St. Amelia!

Holy Cannoli--July's Almost Over!

It was a busy week for Pierre and Miss Smith.  Between work and the heat, Pierre is definitely ready for a nap.  Here are some highlights from the week:

-Miss Smith and Miss Shannon cooked some dinner on Tuesday night.  Pierre was in charge of the music and of course he wanted to pull out a special gift from his friends in Room 23!

-Thursday school was canceled because it was too hot.  Pierre and Miss Smith headed over to Miss Trapasso's to watch some French movies and eat a lot of food.  While they were there, Pierre played with Sebastian!

-On Friday, Pierre, Miss Smith, and Miss Trapasso went school shopping (it's never too soon) and saw a movie.  Pierre was so excited about school that he wrote to his cousin, Sophie, in Paris.  He told her all about last school year, how much fun he had, and asked her to come visit!
- On Saturday, Pierre accompanied Miss Smith and her friend Nicole to the Canal Fest.  It was extremely hot, but fried dough made it worth it!

-On Sunday, Miss Smith's family took her grandpa to a Bison's game.  Despite getting hit by a foul ball (ouch!), it was a fun time.  Afterwards, Miss Smith's grandpa took them to dinner. Yum!

Picnic

Unforunately, Pierre does not have much to report this week.  Nothing out of the ordinary happened.  Work, gym, home.  Sometimes, you just have those weeks!

However, Pierre ADORED seeing everyone at the picnic (as well as Miss Smith), so he just wants to share those pictures and hopes that this week will be slightly  more exciting.  What was your favorite part of the picnic?

Summer Time!

Holy smokes this week passed by quickly!  It wasn't a very exciting week, but Pierre and Miss Smith are enjoying summer.  Pierre went to summer school with Miss Smith.  It's a lot of work, but the room that they are in is air-conditioned, which is nice because you know Miss Smith gets cranky when she gets warm.  On Tuesday, Pierre went with Miss Smith's class to the aquarium!  He loved seeing all the fish and the seals.

Last Friday night, Pierre went with Miss Smith to the Sugarland concert!  It was so much fun.  Miss Smith went with her family and friends and everyone sang along to all the songs (Miss Smith and Pierre sang especially loud to your favorite--Stuck Like Glue!)

On Saturday, Miss Smith and Pierre went to Miss Smith's friends college graduation party.  There was a myriad of food to eat and it was a relaxing, fun time.

Other than that, it's been a pretty quiet summer.  Pierre is enjoying getting ready for the picnic on Saturday.  He can't wait to see those of you who are coming!

Sha-Bam! Happy Fourth of July!

This week was a laid back week for Pierre and Miss Smith.  Pierre spent some much needed time by the pool (he changed into his new outfit a little early because he was so excited!) and ran some errands with Miss Smith. It wasn't the most exciting week and it wasn't sunny every day, but it was a nice mini vacation.

During the summer, Miss Smith will be working with Boces Summer School, so on Friday, Pierre patiently waited in the car while Miss Smith went to orientation all day.  It was not very fun for either of them.

Saturday, Miss Smith and Pierre went to her grandma and grandpa's house to celebrate her great-grandma's 94th birthday.  Miss Smith's Grammie LOVED Pierre and thought he was adorable!  Everyone had a great time and ate a lot of cake.

Sunday was another lazy day.  It was beautiful, so Miss Smith spent a lot of time relaxing in the backyard.  Miss Shannon joined her and Pierre for a little bit and it was a very nice day.  Monday, of course, was the Fourth of July!  Miss Smith went to the beach in the morning and Pierre joined her.  It was a lot of fun, but they didn't stay too long--it was a busy day.

Miss Smith's grandpa always throws a huge party on the Fourth of July.  There is a lot of food and fun.  Unfortunately, Pierre was so very tuckered out from the sun earlier that morning that he slept through the party.  It's okay though, because he probably would not have enjoyed the loudness of the fireworks--remember, he's not even one year old yet!  He saw pictures the next morning and enjoyed those.  Pierre is enjoying his last day off with Miss Smith before summer school starts up on Wednesday.  He cannot wait to see you all in less than two weeks!

First Week of Summer!

Pierre was really looking forward to some relaxing time in the sun this past week.  Unfortunately, Mother Nature did not cooperate.  On Thursday, Pierre stayed home while Miss Smith headed back up to school to finish up some last minute things.  Miss Smith and Pierre were going to go spend some time by the pool, but as soon as Miss Smith got home, it started raining!  Disappointed, they both took a nap instead. 


On Friday, Miss Smith and Pierre got up early to go to the gym with one of Miss Smith's friends.  They did Pilates and Spinning with Miss Shannon.  Afterwards, they came home and relaxed (inside, because it was still cloudy!).  Later that night, Miss Smith and Pierre met up with Miss Shannon and Miss Trapasso for shopping, dinner, and a movie--it was a great way to end the week!

Saturday was the first day in a LONG time that Miss Smith did not have to set an alarm.  Of course, she really didn't sleep in and was up pretty early anyway.  Pierre helped Miss Smith get some things done inside because it was STILL not sunny!  He helped her rearrange her closet, get rid of some clothes, and clean out her bookshelf.  It was a productive day!

Saturday night, Miss Smith and Pierre went to the Tim McGraw concert.  Miss Smith's cousin had an extra ticket and Miss Smith and Pierre really like free things!  It was a great time, even though the people behind them were not the greatest seat-mates.  The only frustrating part was waiting to get out of the concert.  Traffic was awful!

Sunday was a pretty laid back day.  Pierre waited patiently while Miss Smith went to the gym and then out to lunch with Miss Shannon.  They came home to relax (another cloudy day!).  Miss Smith and Pierre went with her family to Red Lobster to celebrate her dad's birthday.  It was yummy (even though Miss Smith doesn't really like seafood).  Pierre is really looking forward to some sunny days!

Father's Day Weekend

Pierre had a jam packed weekend with Miss Smith.  On Friday, he went to Rochester with Miss Shannon to watch a dance recital.  He adored it!

On Saturday, Pierre spent the morning being productive and working on school things and cleaning.  Afterwards, he went to spend some relaxing time in the pool.  He ate dinner with Miss Smith and Miss Shannon and had some cookies for dessert.  Yum!

Sunday was Father's Day so Pierre spent the day with Miss Smith and her father.  Miss Smith's entire family came over and it was so much fun!  Pierre was exhausted, but happy.

Monday was spent back at school packing up the classroom, which was a little upsetting.  Pierre is going to miss all of his friends in Room 23 over the summer, but he hopes you will write to him and Miss Smith!
